Happy Fourth!
While you are all parading, BBQ-ing, roof-topping, sun burning, and toasting to America, I present to you this music video, “Had a Heart,” directed by Shobun Baile to accompany the release of Endless Endless Endless’ fourth full length album, Love and Loss. You can download their album free at bandcamp: endlessendlessendless.bandcamp.com/track/had-a-heart
there’s nothing quite like a real book
I recently discovered the work of Alma Har’el.
Actually, let me rephrase that…
I have been inspired by her work since Beirut’s “Elephant Gun” music video, but I just didn’t realize who was behind this and the other official Beirut videos. As I traipsed around Brooklyn these past few weeks, listening to Beirut’s recently released album, The Rip Tide, I became inspired to find out who had been the visionary for the moving pictures accompanying Beirut’s magical, adventurous, and always personally-inspiring music.
Alas! Alma Har’el.
And in my perusing of her other music videos, I stumbled upon the trailer for her Tribeca Film Fest 2011 hit, her documentary titled Bombay Beach, which has limited release this fall (including in NY, gosh I love this city).
So click the pic, watch the trailer, get to know Alma {her other works can be found here: www.almaharel.com}, and keep your eye out for the film!
Love always.

Beirut
A testament to the difficulty and the romance of getting from one place to another in the city.
Also, Beirut always ends up being the background music to my favorite adventures, so I thought this only appropriate.
